LAS VIDAS NEGRAS IMPORTAN
En solidaridad con el movimiento Black Lives Matter y las protestas que demandan justicia para la Comunidad Negra Afrodescendiente, exigimos justicia por la vida de nuestro compañero haitiano que perdió la vida a manos de la Policía Municipal en Tijuana. El 13 de junio de 2020 alzamos la voz y denunciamos que el tipo de discriminación a la que nos enfrentamos cotidianamente se llama: RACISMO. Exigimos el reconocimiento de la atención con parteras y el reconocimiento de la nacionalidad de los padres en certificados de nacimientos de niñxs nacidxs en México, así como acceso a cartillas de vacunación; exigimos el cese de las detenciones arbitrarias y violentas por perfil racial; exigimos el cese de las extorsiones de elementos de las agencias policiales; exigimos justicia del lengua y regularización en México. #LasVidasNegrasImportan

BLACK LIVES MATTER
In solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and the protests that demand justice for the Afro-descendant Black Community, we demand justice for the life of our Haitian brother who lost his life at the hands of the Municipal Police in Tijuana. On June 13, 2020 we raised our voices and denounced that the type of discrimination that we face on a daily basis is called: RACISM. We demand the recognition of care with midwives and the recognition of the nationality of the parents in the birth certificates of children born in Mexico, as well as access to vaccination records; We demand an end to arbitrary and violent detentions based on racial profiling; we demand the cessation of extortion of elements of the police agencies; We demand language justice and regularization in Mexico. #BlackLives Matter

En Defensa del Asilo
EN DEFENSA DEL ASILO
El 21 de octubre de 2020 nos unimos al movimiento #SaveAsylum iniciado en Nogales, Sonora y Arizona. Solicitantes de asilo y organizaciones defensoras de derechos humanos, realizamos una marcha en las ciudades de Tijuana y San Diego, para defender el derecho al asilo. Desde enero de 2019, más de 60,000 personas han sido regresadas a México bajo el programa MPP o “Quédate en México”, sin ningún tipo de acompañamiento o protección. Solicitamos el respeto al derecho al asilo; exigimos que se elimine el programa MPP; demandamos que se abra la frontera de Estados Unidos para personas que buscan asilo; solicitamos al gobierno de Baja California que brinde apoyo a la población migrante y; demandamos se elimine la lista de espera para solicitar asilo. #DefendAsylum #ADefenderElAsilo

DEFEND ASYLUM
On October 21, 2020 we joined the #SaveAsylum movement started in Nogales, Sonora and Arizona. Asylum seekers and human rights organizations, held a march in the cities of Tijuana and San Diego, to defend the right to asylum. Since January 2019, more than 60,000 people have been returned to Mexico under the MPP or “Remain in Mexico” program, without any type of accompaniment or protection. We request respect for the right to asylum; We demand that the MPP program be eliminated; We demand that the United States border be opened for people seeking asylum; We ask the government of Baja California to provide support to the migrant population and; We demand that the waiting list to request asylum be eliminated.

Duelo en Resistencia
DUELO EN RESISTENCIA
En acción pública conmemoramos la vida de las personas migrantes que han muerto a manos de la Policía Municipal, Instituto Nacional de Migración, Guardia Nacional, ICE, Patrulla Fronteriza, crimen organizado, cruzando por ríos o desiertos. En una actividad translocal el 2 de octubre de 2020, nos unimos con nuestros hermanos de Otros Dreams en Acción y organizaciones solidarias para alzar la voz en contra de la violencia de Estado que sufre la población migrante. En la Plaza Santa Cecilia, frente al lugar donde falleció un migrante haitiano – aún desconocemos su nombre – en custodia de la Policía Municipal de Tijuana, montamos un altar en el que dimos lectura al significado simbólico y político para denunciar la violencia estructural, racista y xenófoba reflejada en las políticas migratorias de México y Estados Unidos.

MOURNING IN RESISTANCE
In a public action we commemorate the lives of migrants who have died at the hands of the Municipal Police, National Migration Institute, National Guard, ICE, Border Patrol, organized crime, crossing rivers or deserts. In a translocal activity on October 2nd, 2020, we joined with our siblings from Other Dreams in Action and solidary organizations to raise our voice against the state violence suffered by the migrant population. In Plaza Santa Cecilia, in front of the place where a Haitian migrant died - we still do not know his name - in the custody of Tijuana’s Municipal Police, we set up an altar in which we read the symbolic and political meaning to denounce structural racist and xenophobic violence, reflected in the migration policies of Mexico and the United States.

Día de la Mujer
MUJERES MIGRANTES EN LUCHA CONSTANTE – CONTINGENTE 8M
Un grupo de 17 mujeres y adolescentes de México, Honduras, El Salvador, Haití y Camerún participaron en la marcha del 8 de marzo de 2020, para hacer visible las voces de mujeres migrantes, acompañadas de otras mujeres tijuanenses quienes apoyan la causa. Desde febrero de ese mismo año en un círculo de mujeres del albergue de Espacio Migrante, se comenzaron a compartir experiencias y problemáticas que han vivido como mujeres en contexto de migración, hablaron de la violencia en sus países, en el tránsito por México, así como de la discriminación y racismo que han sufrido en la ciudad de Tijuana. Entre las pancartas que ellas mismas realizaron se plasmaron mensajes como “Feminismo antirracista” y “Mujeres migrantes exigimos nuestros derechos”. Su participación tuvo un impacto significativo en la ciudad porque algunos medios locales publicaron notas sobre el contingente de mujeres migrantes.

MIGRANT WOMEN IN CONSTANT FIGHT - CONTINGENT 8M
A group of 17 women and girls from Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Haiti, and Cameroon participated in the demonstration on March 8th, 2020 to make people hear the voices of migrant women, accompanied by other women from Tijuana who support the cause. Since February, 2020 in a circle of women from Espacio Migrante’s shelter, they began to share the experiences and problems they have lived as women in the context of migration, talked about violence in their countries, in transit through Mexico, as well as the discrimination and racism they have suffered in the city of Tijuana. Among the banners they made themselves were messages such as "Anti-Racist Feminism" and "Migrant Women We Demand Our Rights." Their participation had a significant impact on the city because local press published notes about the contingent of migrant women.
