DIÁLOGO CULTURAL
I want to present my work and speak about me. My name is Dalie, I am student of architecture in Tijuana. I am Haitien, born in Port-Prince. I arrived en Tijuana in 2018. I Iiked it here and met the organization Espacio Migrante because I wanted to learn Spanish. Then I did an admission exam, in a university called CUT to go into architecture because I like to draw and Math. Later, a participant in the organization told me that as a Haitian student I could apply to a 50% scholarship. Since I speak Creole it is hard to study in a language that is not my own. Although in this city I came across some racist people, due to my will and help received from Espacio Migrante I have been able to make it through.
This sketch I post is an example on my career learning process in which, I yet have seven quarters to finish. I want to graduate to have my architecture diploma and find a job. I am an independent woman. By way of working as an architect I would like to contribute in solutions to problems of my community and city’s societal issues in general; particularly, adaptation issues to get into higher education opportunities lived by other people.

Presento mi trabajo y voy a hablar un poco de mí. Soy Dalie, estudiante de arquitectura en Tijuana. Soy de Puerto Príncipe, Haití y llegué a este lugar en 2018. Me gustó mucho y conocí la organización Espacio Migrante porque quería aprender español. Y después, hice un examen de admisión en una universidad que se llama CUT para entrar a la carrera de arquitectura porque me gusta dibujar y la matemática. Posteriormente, un muchacho participante de la organización me dijo que había 50% de beca para mi como haitiana. Para mí es un poco difícil estudiar en una lengua que no es mi lengua materna que es creole. Encontré unas personas racistas en esta ciudad, y a pesar de esto con mi esfuerzo he superado muchísimos problemas y gracias a Espacio Migrante que me ayudó.
Este diseño es un ejemplo para ilustrar este relato sobre mi aprendizaje de arquitectura en el que me faltan siete cuatrimestres. Quiero graduarme para tener mi diploma de arquitecta y luego tener un empleo. Soy una mujer independiente. Mediante mi trabajo como arquitecta en Tijuana, quisiera contribuir con soluciones a los problemas de nuestra comunidad y de la ciudad en general; y en particular, soluciones a problemas de otras personas en la situación de adaptación para entrar en universidad.
